just got back from my 10 day melbourne trip on sunday! was glad to be home and sleeping in my own bed haha, but had so much fun just catching up with everyone! i started writing this post yesterday but to summarise everything just takes so much effort haha...esp the photo editing...i ate way too much!!

p.s lost some photos because iphones are stupid :( i dunno why some photos just disappeared from my phone...and usually the photos you put in the subfolders can still be seen in the camera roll but they disappeared too D: nooo!

29th June
picked shelly up from bond at around 1pm and headed to airport for 3:25 flight to melbourne and met up with uni friends~ after arriving we quickly checked into our hotel and went out for dinner, dessert and gave them a short tour of melbourne!

- izakaya den
this place is nicely hidden underground on russell st, its like japanese tapas...doesn't seem filling but it wasn't too bad~ split $32 between 4 people and we had dessert too~ this place was pretty nice..the corn especially!

- corn kakiage with green tea salt
- tamago yaki with fish roe
- eggplant with miso minced beef
- spicy tuna tataki (forgot what the other beef dish was called)
- apple millefeuille
- pumpkin creme brulee

- melbourne central/southbank

we arrived on friday so it was shopping night~ showed them around melbourne central and just CBD in general. then went to southbank and crown casino! i lost 15 bux in the first hand so i just stopped...never gambling again...that ruined my winning streak at crown :( i have to say even though i came back to melbourne last september...but alot of things have changed inside! some of the restaurants have moved around and the interior design have certainly "upgraded". as we headed back towards the city, bumped into deb and her family haha! what a coincidence...because we were talking about it the night before that we would somehow bump into each other no matter what

- dessert story
came here for late night asian desserts~ it was pretty good...just wish i got the herbal jelly one haha i got the fig jelly with pearls...a bit too bland for my taste...especially as late night snack :P but all of them were pretty nice, definitely better than meet fresh.

- crazy wings

got some crazy wings to take back to the hotel as late nigh snacks. omg...this was a lifetime experience HAHA. i had crazy wings last time i came to melbourne but i certainly did not try the "crazy wings", which translated from chinese is hentai chilli wings lol. i can see why i didnt order it last time...we eat look a bite and at first you think oh its not too bad but 5 seconds later...my mouth felt like it was just burning on fire and i literally could not feel anything but the burning tingly feeling of my mouth. my bf being the stupid guy he is proposed we do paper scissors rock and loser has to take another huge bite...and guess what he lost hahahahahah.

30th June
today is my birthday, i turned 20 omg im so old...most of my uni friends are '93 so i always get bagged out for being old -_-

- hardware societte

- baked eggs with chorizo sausage
- daily special: eggs with polenta, poached eggs with sausage
- skinny latte with brioche

- scrambled eggs with smoky bacon, brie and onion jam baguette

this deserved a big photo haha because it was so niceeeeee. i had the baked eggs which was pretty good except for the fact that by the end i had two fully cooked egg yolk on the bottom haha...i prefer more watery textured baked eggs (best one ive had so far is at this cafe near 3 bags full on the corner of nicholson st in richmond). out of all the ones we ordered my favourite was certainly the croque madam...loveee the smoked salmon, cheese and buttery taste!

this place brings back soooo many memories of me studying here with my friends in high school...deb and i used to practically live here during exam prep periods...omg i miss high school so much and seeing my best friends everyday :(

- hosier lane

can't remember when was the last time i was in hosier lane...but yeah took my friends here to see the famous graffiti lane in melbourne! apparently there was one of jessica from snsd here a while ago but too bad its gone already

- haircut at seri

while my friends continued to explore the city and ate at some spanish tapas placed called movida, i went to get a haircut at seri! my hairdresser gave me free hair treatment because my hair was a bit dry (score!) though he did compliment me for having soft hair mwhaha! quite happy with my haircut this tie :)

- flinders lane
just did some alleyway touring and shopping haha~

- elizabeth arcade (koko black)
so crushed when they didnt sell java milk anymore...my favourite flavour! and no cappuccino truffles either :( nevertheless this place still had amazing chocolates

- sharing house in south wharf, docklands

we came to the sharing house in docklands for dinner (id like to think its my birthday dinner haha!) the food was quite nice to my surprise and everything was designed to share so that was also a plus. cheese platter was a bit intense for me but some of them were actually really nice, its just i dont think i would order than if i was by myself haha id rather spend my money on something else ~ dessert was alright my favourite was the lemon tart for sure

- came back to chill in the hotel and they had a surprise birthday party for me! thanks guys i really really appreciated it <3 and still can't believe i did not realise the cake was in the back of the fridge...how blind i was...and oh yea the three of them got me an epilator hahahahahahahahahha because i really wanted one before, what an awkward present but very practical :P

1st July

didn't bother uploading a photo of this because i just had the eggs benedict and it looks really boring hahah~ now that ive had quite a few different breakfast palces, 3 bags seems soso but its definitely not bad~

lux bite was so good (thanks for the recommendation susu haha!) we got the tea for 2 set to share between 4 people...the chicken sandwich was amazing o_o and my favourite out of the whole thing was the watermelon meringue with green tea cake as base!! you barely get any desserts with watermelon flavours~ and fererro rocher macaroon looking cake was super nice as well!

- chin chin

was going to come here the night before however it was full so we decided to just come back early the next day for early dinner before two of our friends head back to qld~ the food was nice but i expected it to be better because it was highly rated on urbanspoon etc etc and the dessert was nice but i think i had really high expectations for it and it was not what i expected so it kinda fell short for me

- +39 pizzeria and degustation bar

i think im getting really lazy now..not going to bother putting the names of these up now :( but yea after my friends left, i introduced my bf to my best friends chazza and deb! i knew it was going to be awkward but it turned out okay so thats a relief haha~ he thought they were cool people (of course...since they are my friends) but yeah i think he just needs to know them a bit more then he'll open up~ afterwards we went to san churros for a nice chat then parted ways~

2nd July

decided to take the bf to one of my favourite restaurants in high school as our first meal together alone in melbourne! this place also brings back sooooo many high school memories! we used to come here every week on thursdays when we finished early and have lunch~ best pop chicken!! the teppan chicken is really good too~~ so is the salt and pepper calamari and my favourite black rice pudding <3

afterwards took the bf to my high school for a mini tour...don't ask me why it was an impulsive decision haha...our school is too crappy compared to his looool~ then we headed back to the city and showed me the national gallery of victoria~ i wanted to see the napoleon exhibition but yeah didn't really have time and it costs money :(

- vegie bar

introduced my bf to my third best frienddd susu! so now he's met my 3 closest friends hehe :) we went to vegie bar for dinner...and it wasn't too bad my risotto was quite nice ~~ dunno if i can be bothered going out there again though for dinner considering how busy it gets :\ afterwards we headed to evelyn hotel to meet the rest of my high school friends as it was sarah's birthday~ he was like camouflaging against the wall hahaha felt bad...but yeah wanted to meet my high school friends too and that was probably the only opportunity where most of them will appear there all at once >.<" but yeah it was a chilled night, stayed there till around 12:30 then susu drove us back into the city and just chilled for the rest of the night~

3rd July
spent the day with bf just having some alone time to ourselves for once~

came here due to susu's recommendation and it was niceee! if i still lived in melbourne i would definitely come here more often! wagyu specialist lunches for around 14..well i wouldnt say its like top class wagyu but you can definitely taste the wagyu and the servings are hugeee! could barely finish my hamburger steak. i like the decor of this place its chilled and they have curtains separating seats so you still get some privay somewhat :) and i always have room for dessert no matter how full i am...got a parfait heheh! it was pretty nice i definitely like this place ^__^

- museum
haha being the cheap asians we are we went to see the general exhibition at the melbourne museum near parliament station~ we were gonna see the ancient wonders of mesopotamia as well...but we had this inkling that there might not be that many artifacts...because all the posters and sources online were all animated...we didn't really see any actual artifacts so we just spend a good solid 2 hours walking about the general exhibition and killing time hahah~

- chatime
afterwards we headed back to the city to get my favourite cha time hehe! he tried the strawberry green tea...that was pretty nice too! nothing beats my premium pearl milk tea :)

-pool at cue city
we were soooo cold hahaha and wanted to do something active so we went to play pool at cue city next to david jones~ overall i beat him (cheating of course hahaha) ~ it was fun considering i havent played pool in agesssss....i never played up until uni haha so i was pretty shit lol

- +39 pizzeria
so my bf really liked the mushroom pizza we got with chaz and deb last time, and after extremely filling lunch at takumi we didn't want to eat asian again hahah so we came back here~ the pizzas here are actually really nice...and i love the crust <3

4th July
last day with the bf as he's going back to qld today~

went to izakaya den for lunch~ i think i still prefer dinner but nevetheless this place is still good!

took the bf here for crepes (he really likes crepes...) and we spent here chilling for ages before we had to head back to the hotel and see him off

after seeing the bf off *cry cry hahaha* went to meet my best friends! i wanted to try mamasita the first night i arrived but had to wait 2 hours :( sooo this time we came here for early dinner before chazza leaves! i dunno how i managed to tell her the wrong dates so she thought i was only staying there monday-wednesday and arranged a trip >_<"

my photos were too dark so i just stole photos from a friend :P...we had more than this but yeah i liked it! the corn was amazzinggg~ and i dont usually eat tacos so i quite liked everything though if i stayed in melbourne i would probably think this place is overrated :\ deb and i got the sweet corn icecream as dessert with caramel and popcorn on top...that was pretty nice too! but i think it was thanks to the caramel hahah

after early dinner susu and i killed time by eating at meet fresh (dessert story is definitely better...i think its because there aren't any late night snacks in brisbane so they just have to put up with what they got)~ then we met up with her sister + bf, scarlett and vincent for spiderman 3D ~ i reckon it wasn't that bad, storyline was a bit repetitive but i think because i had reallllllly low expectations for it so it turned out to be better than i thought hahah

5th July
- dukes coffee
came here for quick breakfast with deb and susu~ i got the baked eggs and they had the corn fritters~ i definitely like their corn fritters haha! my baked eggs was okay but i prefer the fritters (so i kept stealing deb's looool)...i think i have this habit of trying all the baked eggs there are because my first was amazing and i wanted to me amazed again haha

- chez dre
after susu headed off to work, deb and i just walked around chapel st shopping~ then we headed to south melbourne for some dessert at chez dre! we got lost...even with a map...hahahahahahah but eventually we got there...we were just on the wrong side of the road and kept looking into alleyways haahaha

the caramel dome was amaaazinggggggg~ the praline was good too but omg the caramel domeee! deb and i shared it haha but i recko we couldve demolished one each haha~ but yeah this place and lux bite was definitely one of my favourite dessert places from this trip! want to try their other cakes too >.<!

- hotpot
met up with susu and christy for hotpot! perfect weather for it on a cold day :) we had a nice longggg chat about everything and some gossip about high school friends hahah~ we ordered half original and half spicy lol susu had to eat the spicy one all by herself because me and christy don't eat spicy :P but yeah we just kept ordering food...sooo full! all i remember from that is whenever i put the squid in to cook...i can NEVERRRR find it!! those two kept laughing at me because i could not get over my squid lol

- tower heist
after we headed home, susu and i watched the tower heist in her living room (my temporary bedroom at hers)~ she went to bed earlier than me since she's got work...so hard working...but yeah i finished the rest and it was a pretty good movie! nothing can really go wrong with ben stiller and eddie murphy haha

6th July
slept in this morning and trammed to the city to meet deb for afternoon tea~ i was really full from the night before so i just had a snackbox at kfc (should've eaten something more melbourne style hey)

- hopetoun tea room
we went to hopetoun tea room in little collins arcade because there always seems to be a HUGEEEEE line outside! this place is definitely overrated. we ordered some passionfruit green tea which tasted better as you let it sit more...and we got scones and praline mudcake to share. they were good but i dont think it was worth the wait...and half the time you're in there you feel pressured to eat faster because the people waiting outside are just staring at you hahah >.< but yeah i would only just go there once...wouldnt bother going back again

- chill with deb at mc/dessert story/myer
we had heaps of time to kill before we had to meet up with kat and susu for dinner~ first we went to her favourite cheap asian place for some shopping. plan was to go to love machine for some asian clubbing on saturday so we both bought some stuff to wear~ then we hanged at melbourne central for a while, taking selfies and whatnot lol~ then we went to dessert story and shared a herbal jelly dessert and literally sat there for like 2-3 hours hahah~ its always nice hanging out with her because its so chilled and calm~ and we can just talk for ages~ but eventually we did run out of things to talk about haha so we headed back to myer and i got some eyeliner from nars~

i blame this girl for all my impulsive buys lol. she is such a bad influence...whenever i go shopping with her i always ended up buying something...this was true in taiwan too lol!!! but i love her to bits <3

- korean bbq at toodouri
even after killing time at so many places..we managed to get to korean bbq early...there were like 3 korean bbqs right next to each other and each smelt so good haha so we just walked back and forth trying to compared which one was cheaper and smelt better XD but yeah had a good chat with kat and those two~ it was chillled and i didnt end up smelling too bad afterwards

- clubbing at alumbra
and here comes the climax/highlight of my whole trip. so before love on saturday, susu and i decided to have a pre-clubbing experience on friday at alumbra, her favourite venue. it was my first clubbing experience so i was somewhat anxious because i was a super light weight but i was excited at the same time. the venue was great and they had good music playing~ everything was fine and i was having fun untilllllllllllllllllllllllllllll my fifth shot and thats when the night took a dramatic turn ahhaha. i had 2 wet pussys, 1 agwa bomb and 2 tequila shots in about 2 hours and yea...i can't even remember myself puking but yes i did right at the bar....even worse is i managed to puke on scarlett and susu's shoes too (im really sorry guys...if i knew i was going to puke i would have gone to the bathroom T_T)...then they pushed me to the dancefloor to hide from the guards haha >.<" all i remember is that some guys tried to talk to us...but i dont think i was conscious enough to even respond...susu said 2 sets of guys tried to talk to us...but i think i only remember the first one hahaha fml. actually i do remmeber myself leaning against the small tables on the dancefloor and just kind of just...dozed off. then we headed back to the bar to get more water but yeah guard saw me and "escorted" me out...i remember vincent was carrying me out (thanks heaps...!) and scarlett was having a fight with her boyfriend...all i remember is hearing all these swear words and something about slapping him..i wanted to comfort her but i was not in the right state of mind to. thank god susu and vincent were sober lol..i think i like ruined their night haha felt soooo bad the next morning :( but yeah susu got me into a cab and took me home and snuggled me in bed...i remember she kept demanding me to drink all of my berocca so i would not have a hangover the next day...yes susu i thank you for it...but yeah the water and the berocca kind of accelerated my puking throughout the whole night though...im grateful there was a bucket because i certainly do not want to give her mum a bad impression by leaking puke on her living room floor.

i look a bit weird but yeah this was when we got ready and took some selfies with my best friend :) definitely one worth keeping considering i puked on her shoes and she took care of me the whole night <3

wanted to take photos of the place that night but i was kinda too absorbed into the club scene so i didnt...so took some internet shots hahah! so yeah this is alumbra where i had my first clubbing experience..and where i puked.

7th July
i felt SOOOOOOOOO dead this morning....shower never felt this good before.

we took a cab back to the city to pick up her car at her dad's place...then she drove us to breakfast thieves...i decided to pay for cab and her breakfast because i actually felt so bad the next morning when i woke up...after registering all that has happened. and yea i couldnot fully enjoy breakfast because i was worried i might throw up again lol fml...then she drove me back to hers because i certainly needed some rest >.< and i spent some time packing...knowing i probably won't have much time later

- deb's house
went to deb's house for a quick bake! we (okay not we...it was mostly deb) made passionfruit melting moments! omg there was so much butter and sugar LOL...but it certainly tasted good! she is actually quite the genius at baking...and she also made me gyoza because i was finally hungry and have slightly recovered from last night lol. oh and yeah i called off clubbing on saturday because i seriously dont think i could enjoy and go through friday night again straight after >.< chaz was going to leave her cousin's 21st early to club with us so in the end she did not come to another bakeoff at deb's later on in the night~ we spent a good afternoon just talking again and her laughing about what happened the night before because susu was literally giving her a live update hahahahhaha. apparently she was like oh yeah she seems fine after 5 shots! then 5 minutes later...oh shit she's swaying. oh fuck she puked. hahahah omg...never again.

deb's parents were gonna leave that night for malaysia and hongkong so i left and met up with susu for dinner at maedaya! it was such a long waitttt so before we actually got dinner, susu went to get croquette salad at momotaro next door haha! i remember going there with my sister before..the ramen servings are literally HUGE...i definitely cannot finish it even if i shared with someone else. but yeah after seems like a 3 hour wait..but it was only really like 1 hour...we got a table at maedaya~ we ordered around 8 skewers each and omfg...never understimate how filling they can be! beforehand we were like...we probably can't get full from skewers hey~ and were we wrong haha...we were about to explode by the end haha >.< but yeah this place is good! the ox tongue was amazing and so was everything else~ and they gave out hichew at the end haha..definitely need that to refresh my mouth

- deb's house
so after dinner we headed back to deb's place again and had another bakeoff! she made susu's favourite sticky date pudding haha~ we took a few photos, chilled, and they laughed at my clubbing experience again lol. but yeah deb is seriously amazing at baking...susu was saying how after she finishes her science degree she should just open up her own little bakery/cafe hahah and we would be her VIP's.

for someone like me...who usually is not a fan of sticky date pudding...this was good!! but lol if anyone ever knew how much sugar and butter we put in the caramel sauce omg...that is suppppppppperrrr fattening! but nevertheless it was so good.

8th July
my last day in melbourne :( damn i miss this place...so many food choices unlike gold coast!

went to madam sousou for breakfast with 8 other high school friends~ it was nice catching up with everyone knowing that we are all still connected after graduating from high school...obviously excluding kristina and kat who just dont mesh well...they are like water and oil...i seriously dont get why kris doesn't like kat or kavi or freya...we just speculate its because they are really close with sarah and she is besties with her....no idea im not going to get myself involved because i am friends with both of them.

i had the mushroom parisienne in the bottom right hand corner...that was prettttty good. and for someone like me who dont eat avocados...i ate it all! solid effort haha. but yeah i like this place it has good breakfast! would come here again if i could :)

chaz drove me to the airport on the way home! we had a nice chat in the car before i headed back to boganville -_- and i slept through the entireeeeeeee flight because i was so tired haha! but it was good to be home and sleeping in my own bed :) but i have certainly missed melbourne and my best friends...defs coming back again...and next time us 4 will go out properly without me puking :)
